• ISLINGTON Music has been a mainstay of generations of aspiring young (and old) musicians in the borough (Customers: ‘Thanks for the music’, May 19).

How can we let this shop close? How can we see another unique Islington store just disappear because people prefer to buy online?

There is nothing to compare with sifting through sheet music, flipping through CDs, checking the notices for music teachers and events, and getting advice from Tricia Cottle.

Is there not someone out there who would take over this business to keep it going? If not, Islington will become much much poorer.
