The objections are to a depot using diesel vans opening beside a school because of the local pollution it will cause. All good arguments, with children’s welfare at risk.

But actually, given what we now know of the climate emergency and in the month of the Australian fires, why is the building of a new depot using diesel (a new tank and four pumps) being considered at all?

Do we not know enough to know we can’t go on as we are?
