Why the need to extend Black History Month?

• MP Jeremy Corbyn is calling for Black History Month to be extended, (Corbyn: ‘Black history in schools needs more than one month a year’, July 3).
Why? One never hears of history months for the Huguenots, Jews, Italians, Irish, Indians etc.
Why do black people consider that their history is more important than that of other immigrant groups?
