• WE are informed that drones are the police’s latest idea yet there is not a whimper of debate.

This is strange as police drones will change our way of life forever. Imagine drawing back your curtains to see a police drone recording you.

Will their cost impact on the presence of police on the streets? They will be able to look from a distance, identify you by facial recognition and a private police service supplier will be contracted to pick you up the next day.

Our very busy MPs should question police policies regarding drones and how they intend to use them.

Is the next step armed drones? Do we want that?
