The George pub before its closure

• THE report on the ­take­over of the former George pub in Arsenal by members of the Green Anti-Capitalist Front (GAF) takes a totally gratuitous sideswipe at the Climate Change Extinc­tion Rebellion (XR) move­ment “which caused chaos in parts of London last year”, (A pint of soya milk, please! Arsenal pub taken over by green anarchists, February 28).

Not only is XR not associated with GAF, but to report on XR as if all it did was to cause chaos is clearly partial: XR’s protests in London in April led directly to Parliament declaring a climate emergency, the first national Parliament in the world to do so.
