POLICE closed York Way this morning after arresting a man on suspicion of attempted rape.

Officers were called to the road at 3am on Friday morning to reports of an attempted rape.

A man, aged in his 40s, is currently in custody. He was also arrested on suspicion of possessing a class A drug.

The victim – a woman – is being supported by specialist officers, the Met Police said.

A crime scene remains in place and enquiries are continuing.

Camden Park Road is reportedly also closed northbound. Bus routes 390 and 393 are on diversion.
