Jewish Festival at Highbury Fields

Jewish summer fete in Highbury Fields

• RÓISÍN Ní Corráin wrote about the Jewish summer fete and the issue of Highbury Fields barbecues (Smoke-free play, but not during barbecues, October 20).

We specifically organised the event to be barbecue-free. Most people were respectful and set up barbecues on the perimeter of our event. However, shortly after the event ended, the park once again filled with paraffin-filled smoke.

While I don’t intend to alienate anyone from either side of this discussion, should you wish to support another smoke-free day on Highbury Fields, we are currently in the middle of a public vote for a £25,000 grant towards next year’s summer fete.

If you can spare two minutes, and get some friends to vote as well, got to www.avivacommunityfund.co.uk/voting/project/view/17-1687
