A YOUNG man has been found dead with stab wounds in Holloway.

Police were called to Axminster Road, just off Seven Sisters Road, around 11.30am.

The man is in his 20s but police say they are still trying to contact next of kin. 

There have been no arrests.

Superintendent Jack May-Robinson added: “Local people will notice a more visible police presence in the coming days and I urge anyone with concerns to approach officers on patrol.

“We will continue to support our specialist crime colleagues as they work to identify and apprehend the person, or persons, responsible.

“I would like to thank the public for their patience and understanding while this vital work takes place.”

A post-mortem examination will be scheduled in due course.

Detective Chief Inspector Neil John said: “At this early stage we are establishing a timeline of events …  If you have information or dashcam footage, please do get in touch.”

The Met’s statement said: “Police were called at 11:39am on Wednesday to reports of a man stabbed at Axminster Road, Islington.

“Officers and London Ambulance service attended. At the scene a man, believed aged 20s, was found with knife injuries.

“Despite the efforts of emergency services he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

“Enquiries are underway to identify the male and notify next of kin.

“A post-mortem examination will be scheduled in due course.

“A crime scene in in place and the Met’s Specialist Crime Command has been notified.

“At this early stage there has been no arrest.”
