ANTI-RACISM campaigners marched through London in response to Tommy Robinson holding a gathering for British “patriots” in Trafalgar Square.

Campaigners said they would not let the “far right” get a foothold in public life, and warned how too many politicians had allowed debates to be poisoned.

And they accused Mr Robinson of whipping up tensions by offering easy messages to people struggling during the cost-of-living crisis.

Peeps, the Tribune’s video channel, covered the Stand Up To Racism counter protest, but also asked Mr Robinson’s supporters what had made them come to central London on Saturday. One told our reporter that she had possibly been “brainwashed at university”.

You can watch our film from the two demonstrations online now.

Anti-racism campaigner Liz Wheatley said: “We must stand up for what is right and show our solidarity.”
