I suppose one more death is of no consequence to the NHS

• MY GP said he wanted to see me in two weeks and told me I would have to have a scan. That was three weeks ago.
I am unable to obtain an appointment with the same GP and there has been no word about the scan for a swelling on my neck.
As I was getting nowhere by phone I went to the surgery. The receptionist called the manager, a self-important woman, who told me I was making life difficult for the receptionist and I would have to be triaged by phone.
I continue to be told that there are no appointments left, so no help there.
The swelling on my neck is more prominent than it was and the National Health Service has a system that prevents me from finding out what the problem is.
I have not thought about my mortality every day, but I do now. I suppose one more death is of no consequence to the NHS.
I don’t want to live for ever, but I need to know what this swelling on my neck indicates. Seems like I will die of old age before I find out.
