• YOUR correspondent (The Labour Party in Islington has lost its focus, March 4) is out of touch with what North Islington voters want.

A trip to the crowded weekly surgeries held by Jeremy Corbyn MP (excluding the sad Covid period) tell a different story.

Rather than chasing a “socialist utopia” he spends hours listening to the numerous problems of his constituents – health, housing etc, trying to find solutions.

It is precisely socialist solutions which are called for to solve most of these problems.

Real leadership comes from your affinity with your voters, knowing and caring for them, not a policy of expelling anyone who disagrees with you.

Perhaps that is why Jeremy Corbyn has one of the highest votes in the country.
